Right

Will offers his hateful Jaldonite adversary, Waron Hairskull, some wine while Waron is taking his turn rowing Anaxial's Ship along the Celestial River.
Then Will offers peaceful platitudes that only elicit a scornful response, escalating into a hateful reaction when Will squirts wine into Waron's mouth.
The next thing you know, Waron has summoned a dessert wind spirit to attack Will who doesn't fight back in order to get Waron tossed overboard.
Little did Will know that the real plan was to attack their enemy and escape overboard. Thus, Will missed his chance to obtain a harp string of Pavis.
(Yes, I know Restood, the Blue Llama Tribe Shaman had that harp string, but Will would have traded for it if there had been any more time on board).

And, yes, "like Will's approach, except for the sword." Will would use a spear. (Just kidding)
